The movers are here, now you didn’t think we would be hauling all the servers ourselves did you? Well I sure didn’t jump for that opportunity! We have a good group here to help us move and get setup. Not in any specific order but you have here a glimps of Chaos and Loki and Sakray, and so what maybe I did name the movers?!
I know over the years there has been this rumor about hamsters and what role do they play in the servers. Well you can see we had the hamsters do the wiring here, and well I guess a picture is worth a thousand words.
The process now is cutting, pull ties, unplugging, lifting and removing, not dropping (this is key to survival in all cases), packing, transporting, and then reversing the order. Seems simple yeah?
And now we say so long to our home for all these years, we will remember the good times and the bad times.

All the cables look almost like the backsite of my TV-rack. ^^
I had an opportunity to regularly visit a bank’s server room, and change some wires. When I did the spaghetti wiring there, my boss just took me to another server room which is a total mess, and made me change some wires there. Than, I realized that what I did at the bank’s server room was like spamming safety walls right under some MVP boss while my party members are hunting it with physical melee attacks….
I’ll be glad to have new racks that actually have the channels in the side for the wiring, these did not hence the “hanging” wires.

Yes all server racks should have the wiring rails, but looks like they were too cheap for them
Once you get your new servers in place, show people the front and back of the server racks.
Which servers are you using? My servers I maintain at work are all HP Proliant servers.
Its not that bad looking. When i worked at Inacom our server area was messy. Then Compaq bought us and it improved allot…and it got even better when HP and Compaq merged.
