WarpPortal Passwords have been updated.

Greetings WarpPortalites,

As of Tonight February 25th, we have updated all WarpPortal passwords. This means to login to the WarpPortal you will need to use the “Forgot Password?” link that appears on the login page. You will need to have access to the WarpPortal email address and enter your Birthdate. This will send an email to you with a link that allows you to type a new password.
If you would like a visual guide please view the Knowledge Base Article

Today we had an attack on the forums, and while all evidence points that there is no user information leak, and the fact that there is no payment or game info stored at all on the Forums; we would rather over react than under react with this incident. In our efforts to ensure the maximum security possible we have updated your passwords for your WarpPortal account, but the game account passwords remain unchanged.

We will bring up the forums as soon as we have updated and completed any fixes that are necessary to continue having the best user experience and security possible with the forums.

When updating your password please use a NEW, STRONG password that is at least 6 characters with numbers letters and symbols to maximize the security of the password.

If you have questions or need assistance updating your password, please contact our Customer Service team.

Thank you for your understanding
WarpPortal Team

  1. man. i just decided to play dragon saga today and i cant logon and need info. hackers are funny though at times.

  2. Wow I think this is the most comments of any posts I’ve made here!

But seriously, we were looking at what it is we want to accomplish with this forum downtime. Much of what we were planning was slated for a few weeks/months down the road. But it seems foolish to partial fix then later have to refix something; especially if the halfway fix may not remedy the flaw that caused us to have to take the server down.

We have events often, and very likely March will have some interesting stuff going in anyway. I don’t want to lie and say “this event is for compensation” when in reality it was going to happen anyway. We do want players to be AND feel safe. I don’t like causing panic or acting quicker than we can give notice to our community. But realistically it was better for everyone involved to settle the matter before the weekend and just get the passwords changed so we could all move forward with life.

Currently the forums may come back up late this week; but more realistically it will be next week.

We are updating with new hardware, new versions and new systems in place on the forums to address some of our long term concerns and short comings with the forums and to hopefully improve performance as well.

  3. I wish the blog would be used more often.

2 weeks without the forums? How will we ever survive!

I hope all the time we have to wait is worth it.

  4. I still want new themes for the forums. Preferably a dark theme with a black background instead of white.

  5. I wanted to participate in the Dragon Saga short film contest but I wasn’t able to find out the details. But then again, I wouldn’t have known about the contest if the forums were up; when the forums went down I found some warpportal person’s twitter and found out about it there.

So… will you extend the deadline for the contest because the forums are down, even though technically I wouldn’t be trying to participate if the forums were up?

Yes, I know. Oh, the irony~!

  6. The forum’s been so easily compromised so why should I feel safe to browse such a site with minimum security? I’d hate to purchase WP via PayPal or entering my credit card information knowing there are people out there attacking/hacking warpportal and overriding the security systems. I’m just wondering if this has occurred in anyone’s thoughts that maybe it’s safe to avoid giving out your personal information on this website. I think it’s very unprofessional and clumsy of you guys to let something like this happen, if it continues, it can jeopardize people’s lives, i.e. getting their PayPal account hacked due to cyber-terrorists implementing a phishing link within the web page.

  7. What a perfect timing for forum down was a good way to prevent all QQ about how this game fail everytime we get new content ET is another fail like ST and what they give to us with this ET all ppl in battlefields with damn ET pets nice job
