What I mean by that is that things are unplugged and being moved and strapped down in the moving “truck”. Right now the smurf moving crew is taking a lunch break (scheduled). So far things are going according to the master plan, but the real fun starts when stuff starts being powered back on after the move!
On the Requiem side we are preparing the web content updates for the individual classes for the big update, is fun and colorful but very eye straining.
Here is a before picture of all the racks (back) we used at cogent, the RO and ROSE racks were opened, the Requiem ones were closed. Filled the whole row!
Here is a pic of the front of the racks. Those closest are our veteran servers, when the login or character select goes down the ones on the far right are the ones we yell at.
Yes some of those are old, cases, with many upgraded parts inside like HDD ram etc over the years. Perhaps a retirement sale could be done in the future to fund direct hardware replacements faster. Ha that would be interesting to see if anyone would want to buy the old hardware for nostalgia or rage purposes!
Woot, gonna actually start playing my chars again this week. Hopefully everything goes smoothly with your “master plan” Mwahahah.
I’ll trade you this years trick or treat haul for parts of the old login server if you replace it.

Actually we did keep the boxes for many years… for various activities like, moving, building forts, building fire hazards you know the normal.
Back in the day Dell was the in thing even for business applications. Technologies change new vendors get great products and prices etc and this year a different vendor is the choice of the day.

I have 1 older Dell server, never did like that, but worse ones were the IBM servers
I still favor the HP/Compaq servers myself.
